Temporary Regularization Program: RNE

Mexico’s National Institute of Migration (INM) has extended its regularization program through 2024. This program provides an opportunity for foreigners with expired visitor permits to apply for temporary residency without needing to leave Mexico.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Entry Requirement: Applicants must have entered Mexico by plane before January 1, 2022. Some INM offices may require proof of multiple entries.

2. Permit Status: The applicant must currently hold an expired visitor permit (FMM) or a temporary resident card that expired before or during 2022​ (Trámites Migratorios)​.

3. Proof of Stay: Proof of residence in Mexico since the last entry is necessary, typically demonstrated through utility bills or other official documents
